Two Cities Offered For Sale by War Assets Administration

Dragertown Utah a self sufficient mining town of 604 one story houses plus a store theater hospital school and 377 acres near Desolation Canyon 23 miles east of Price on the Denver and Rio Grande railroad goes up for sale with all furnishings and equipment including 300 refrigerators 725 coal ranges 705 heating stoves and 29 furnaces plus a hospital and water system. Roebling New Jersey company town of 754 homes and 15 businesses along the Delaware River near Trenton is also up for sale with priority to current residents and employees of the wire plant who own the town.

Roebling rent fears and company prices raise town worries

Residents complain rents in Roebling are low while company asking prices for homes rise sharply and taxes on the homes begin. Mayor Pintof says OPA limits and past municipal costs influence the situation as the town awaits a broader policy. Roebling, settled 1906, is named after John A. Roebling of Brooklyn Bridge fame.
