Winter Meetings Close With Limited Baseball Changes

Birmingham dispatch notes that for four weeks ending November 30, 1929, 839 deaths from automobile accidents were recorded in 78 cities, up from 735 a year earlier. New York led with 114 deaths. other high totals included Chicago 86, Cleveland 34, Detroit 44, Philadelphia 28, Los Angeles 34, and Atlanta 17. Birmingham reported seven deaths, with Memphis five, Nashville four, and New Orleans ten.
