A C-47 Army airliner crashed near the Tennessee Mississippi line killing eight or more. Rescue teams found badly burned bodies among scattered wreckage as an Army wreck er cleared debris. Pilot contact with the tower had existed until minutes before the attempted landing and visibility was reportedly good.

Hagler, 87, Dies At Dothan Home In Alabama

Charlie Hagler died at age 87 at the home of his daughter Mrs. T. M. Andrews on Dothan route one after an illness. He had lived with his son Clyde Hagler on Dothan route four.
