Henry Crosby, 32, and Mrs. Josephine Rothh Bigelow, 22, social figures from Boston, were found shot to death in artist Stanley Mortimer Jr.’s West 67th Street studio. Crosby held a .25 pistol. Bigelow was shot in the temple. Police termed it a death by own action pact with no clear motive. Crosby had ties to Paris and the Black Sun Press. Bigelow was recently married and visiting New York. Selma Child Burns as Clothing Ignites
Edith, the 3 year old daughter of Mrs. O R B Radford of near Selma, was fatally burned when her clothing caught fire from an undetermined cause. Mrs. Radford, in the garden, heard screams and rushed to smother the flames with a shawl before taking the child to a hospital where little hope remained. Virginia Wyett, 11, died here several days ago from burns.
