Desenas to Fort area hosts a war stamps treasure hunt for students from city schools tomorrow. Teams will visit homes to collect stamps and turn results into bonds. Event starts around 2 p.m. local time.
School officials announced a Friday night program at 7 o clock including short plays a blackface ski a beauty contest cake walks and other amusements. The public has been invited.

Advanced Army seaplane base at Leyte reports a solo air attack by Lieutenant James D Fallon of New Raven, Connecticut, in the Nightmar e. Fallon shadowed the target for two hours before breaking off as the ship showed signs of damage but no fires. Crewmembers include Seaman First Class Royal P. Duplantis, motor mechanic James S. Keaper, and Seaman 2 Herbert N. Wells.
Joseph William Holmes 57, investigator for the State Health Department, died last night from a cerebral hemorrhage. A Lebanon Tenn native and lawyer, he lived at 908 South Foster and was survived by wife Mrs M Holmes and son Mayor R S Holmes. Funeral arrangements by Ward-Wilson Funeral Home to be announced.

Number 12 chairman of schools in the Tenth War Bond District announced that Treasury Hurts will be observed simultaneously by every school in Dale, Henry, Houston, Geneva, Barbour, and Henry counties. Henry County schools will close at 1 pm and others at 2 pm. In Houston County the goal is to maximize E bonds and stamps sales, with continued efforts through the afternoon.
Report from Dulsan Branch Laboratory states four fox heads brought by RP Tyler and Anton rowe indicate possible rabies infection. One fox reportedly kicked to death by a mule or horse in the enclosure where the fox was raving. Five barges and ondes may have been bitten. they are being treated for rabies.

Lieutenant Russell P. Sanders Jr., 32, of 409 East Lafayette Street, has completed his fiftieth combat mission as a navigator of a 15th Air Force Flying Fortress based in Italy. His golden mission, on November 1, targeted oil refineries at Blechhammer, Germany, following a career beginning at Dothan High School and Bay Line Railway.
