Army War Games Train Over 300000 In Camps Nationwide

Washington Aug 22 AP More than 300000 professional and part time soldiers will be trained under the War Department this summer in over 40 camps nationwide. Training ranges from 50000 man units for the first army to small groups in isolated areas. The biggest war games began last week at Pine Camp New York and Mount McGregor with Maj Gen Dennis E Noland overseeing. The Army has four regional armies and the New England Atlantic states unit forms the first army’s force after last year’s paper maneuvers in New Jersey.

Hay and Crops May Become Silage If Dry Enough

Auburn August 72 AP state extension specialists advise farmers good forage can be made from hay and grazing crops if moisture is low and crops are finely cut and trimmed. Recommending slight molasses to improve palatability, they note soybeans alfalfa and corn silage possible with conditions. If moisture is 70 percent crops should stay to reach about 50 percent moisture before harvest for silage.

Shrimp Packers Disagree On Pound Count In Gulf States

In Biloxi Mississippi the Minstoolppi packers dispute Alabama and Louisiana packers over the number of shrimp per pound with Mississippi claiming 40 while others insist 35. Meanwhile in Dubuque Iowa Arthur Nichela, 51, was shot as his wife said he argued with her and a pistol went through his arm during a domestic incident.

Young itinerant confesses to Kennett murder case in Auburn

Earl Cramer, a 21 year old itinerant preacher, confessed to the slaying of Chicago contractor James C Kennett Sr and the death of a red headed youth.
