Sheron Eldridge, of Walden County Florida, reportedly met Henderson years ago and had an arrangement. On Tuesday she fired a 2 calibre pistol three times at Henderson after a short conversation on Crawford Street. Police later recovered the gun from Eldridge and advised her to file through sheriff’s office.

The first 1944 cotton bale ginned at Headland by Espy and Gnitlin Gin Co. grown by John Lee Pittman on an Espy Mercantile Co. farm weighed 477 pounds. It sold to Espy Mercantile Co. for 2 cents a pound and was graded strict low middling. Five more bales followed that morning.

Crawford And Davis Stationed At Miami

Staff Sergeant Thomas R Crawford and Techmest Sergeant Bert G Davis of Dothan have returned from service outside the continental United States and are now at the Army Air Forces Redistribution station in Miami Beach awaiting their next assignment. Crawford, son of Robert D Crawford, served 83 months as a technical supply worker in the Caribbean and is an alumnus of the University of Alabama. Davis, son of Mr and Mrs Davis, served 33 months as a technical supply sergeant in the Caribbean area, flying 40 missions, and graduated from Dithan High School. He entered the Army in September 1941.
