Tragic drowning of Wade Lee at Piney Grove Mill Pond
In a Dothan Dothan area incident Wade Lee, a popular former Dathan student age about 80, drowned after entering a pond to assist another swimmer. Gerald Breedlove rescued one man but Wade Lee sank despite efforts by bystanders. Wade weighed 165 pounds and resided in Taylor. The event drew hundreds to Piney Grove church and cemetery for his funeral.
