Mack Murphy, a 6 year old 4 H clubber, swept three firsts and a third prize including the Grand Champion in Hereford and other breeds at the Dothan fat stock show held yesterday. The event drew about 4000 rain soaked fans at Ramsey and South Yards as the Murphy family continued its long prize winning tradition. Judge Milton P. Jarnigan of the University of Georgia tallied a hairline finish by Horace Neal of Samson with Neal’s Hereford Reserve Champion flagging a tight contest.

Carroll Sallee landed the converted A-26 bomber Bomab shell at La Guardia at 11 06 30 am after 78 hours 3 minutes, shaving 12 hours 19 minutes off the prior unofficial mark. The trio averaged 254 mph overall over 20 020 miles with 16 hours 9 minutes lost in nine stops.
