Funeral Service Held For Frank Williams
Funeral services for Frank F. Williams sixty one of Ashford were held Saturday at Ward Wilson chapel with Rev G s M Agee and Rev J W Yeoman officiating. Burial followed in Ashford cemetery with Ware Wilson Funeral Home in charge. He died Thursday at Montgomery hospital after a long illness and had lived in Ashford for the past 60 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow a son Frank F Williams Jr of Ashford two daughters Mrs Edd Lindley Montgomery and Miss Beardie Lou Williams Ashford a granddaughter and two nephews Dick Williams Ferriday La and Henry C Williams Dothan. Active pallbearers were Bill McCorkle Carson Cameron Oakley Shiver Robert Earl Christmas Abdul Scott and Carley Addison.

Livestock markets draw mixed results across Georgia and Alabama
Livestock arrivals at eight major plants in Georgia and Florida totaled 400 cattle 200 calves and 1000 hogs. Hog prices mostly fell about 50 cents from Friday with medium to choice hogs 189 pounds and up at 21.50 to 21.75. In Montgomery Alabama cattle receipts small sellers offered 17.50 to 21.00 for medium slaughter steers and heifers, cows 9.0 to 15.5, calves 11.0 to 19.0, hogs 15.0 to 22.0 depending on weight. Estimates show 375 hogs sold with varied cuts and weights and overall dairy and beef values drifting lower.
