Negro Killed as Log Truck Overturns on Highway
A log truck overturned on the Dothan Enterprise road six miles from Dothan, killing a Black man identified as Ander Juane of Bellwood who was riding as a passenger. The white driver, J J Cope of Bellwood, suffered a severe wrist injury and left the hospital after treatment. Motorscout Strickland investigated. Cope attempted to pass a truck driven by John Snell, pulled right, struck Steil’s truck, and the log truck toppled into a fill. Cope could not confirm whether the victim jumped or was struck.
