Lambert Arrested in Shooting Case Near Dothan

A. D. Lambert of Dothan was arrested on a charge of assault with intent to murder after the Tuesday morning shooting of Bill Seaborn Riley. Riley was struck in the left forearm by a bullet on the airport road west of Dothan. a small caliber rifle was found at Lambert’s home and the bullet fragment recovered.

Last Of Marianna's Escapees Recaptured

The last escapee June Tee, a 20 year old from Cadillac Michigan, was recaptured in Greenfield Indiana after a jail break with a passkey. The three prisoners fled from Marianna jail March 30. The other two escapees Willie Lee Jr and Doyle Ranew were already in custody. Ranew surrendered to Sneads police. Willie Lee was captured in Dade City and will be returned to Florida. June Lee faces robbery charges and will have a hearing in Greenfield before return.

Justice Murphy Loses Dissent In Traffic Stop Case

Associate Justice Frank Murphy dissented as the Supreme Court case ended with the traffic officer prevailing. Pvt R V Taylor of the metropolitan traffic police cited a wrong lane turn as the basis to stop and book the driver, with Murphy arguing the arrest violated liberty. Rain Damaged County Roads See Repair Progress

Chairman Albert Logue of the Houston County Board of Revenue reports considerable progress in repairing roads damaged by recent severe rainstorms.
