Eight persons were injured yesterday afternoon near Compass Lake Florida when a Brannon Stand party's car collided with another vehicle. Mrs Alma Bell Toney 40 of Columbus Ga died at 4 am in Chipley hospital from internal and head injuries. The seven injured included Lee Spurlock driver of the other car and G C Aplin Johnnie Aplin Connie Horne Bishop Kelley Ewell Jones and Sam Smith. Spurlock was placed on bond to accompany passengers for first aid in Dothan. Johnnie Aplin suffered a broken jaw. O C Aplin had a broken nose and chest injuries. Passersby ferried the injured to Chipley and Dothan.
