Expert says print came from Bennett in murder case
Rockford pathologist Dr. Larry Blum testified at a Carroll County jury trial that pattern abrasions on Carrie Duncan’s face matched Bennett’s shoe tread, not co defendant Calvin Pierce. He described 11 stab wounds including a liver piercing and head blows that could have caused Duncan’s death. Bennett admitted being with Pierce and to stabbing Duncan, but claimed she could not do it alone. The case is expected to go to the jury Friday.
