Sagging farmland assessments press Rochelle schools
Rochelle Township High School Superintendent Doug Creason warned the district faces deeper red ink as farmland assessments dropped by 1.4 million and the education fund is already short by 239,569. He noted House Bill 890 would fund a 50 voucher to any student, a proposal he opposes. CEANCI Director Julie Nichols outlined regional career education efforts, with Kishwaukee College absorbing courses after the Rockford center’s closure, aiming for parity and access by 1993.
