Long Serving Rural Carrier Hubert Schauff Dies at 93
Hubert Schauff of Hub Street died Friday March 24 1989 at St Francis Medical Center Peoria. A rural mail carrier for 42 years he retired in 1962 Born January 3 1896 in Hahniman Township he married Helen Hamblock July 7 1920 in Tampico She died February 8 1968 He was a member of St Marys Tampico Sterling Knights of Columbus and an Army veteran of World War I Surviving daughters Joyce Anderson Glastonbury Conn Marilyn Shaffer Peoria eight grandchildren seven great grandchildren Funeral services set with 9 45 a.m prayer service and 10 30 a.m Mass at St Marys Tampico Burial at St Marys Cemetery Tampico Visitation 2 4 and 6 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 30 p.m. Memorial to the church.
