Dixon Library and Police Get $1000 Grant for No Drug Program
The Dixon Public Library and the Dixon Police Department will host five Tuesday evening sessions from April 25 to May 23 focusing on substance abuse education for parents of school aged children. A $1000 grant from Walgreens Benefit Fund funds materials for Project in the No. Kevin Walgreen presented the donation to library director Nancy Gillfillan and Sergeant Harry Alferts.

Oregon man captured after Sandwhich sexual assault case
SWAT teams from Ogle and DeKalb counties arrested Mickey R. Parson Jr., 30, at his rural Oregon home on a DeKalb warrant for aggravated criminal sexual assault connected to a Friday abduction and attack in Sandwhich. Guns were seized. Parson faces six to 30 years, with possible doubling for prior convictions. He remains jailed on $200,000 bond and scheduled to appear in DeKalb County court.

Lou Moore 76 founder of Moore's True Value Hardware on Lincoln Highway is listed in serious condition after being rushed to Rochelle Community Hospital Saturday with an apparent aortic aneurysm. He was taken by Rochelle Fire Department to the hospital and then transferred to St Anthony Medical Center Rockford for surgery.
