Carson signs contract to host Tonight Show through 1990
Johnny Carson announced on his Wednesday night show that his 27th Tonight Show anniversary will be Oct 1 and he has signed to continue through September 1990, saying it was a meteorological quirk that led to reupping. He noted NBC chief Brandon Tartikoff asked if he still has fun, replying yes.
