Rose of the Rock River set for historic road move

The riverboat Rose of the Rock River will travel a 75 mile land route from Ottawa to Oregon Illinois to set a state record as the largest equipment moved the farthest on Illinois roads. The move begins near 5:30 a.m. Monday with route contingencies and road closures announced by IDOT and state police.

Charity worker robs blind man caper in San Francisco

A homeless blind man accused of robbing a bank with 950 dollars was robbed at a hotel by a sightless ex jeweler. Police sought the Catholic charity worker assigned as their escort. Richard Dunbar, 34, and William Douglass, 38, were involved after a court released Dunbar to Douglass, a once-blind jeweler. The Society of St Vincent de Paul arranged the escort and hotel room.

Bush approves 65 million in aid to Colombia

President Bush announced 65 million dollars in emergency U S military aid to Colombia to bolster anti drug efforts. The package includes Huey helicopters arms and vehicles with U S personnel to train Colombians. Voyager 2 streaked past Neptune at 3,000 miles above its frigid cloud tops on Thursday night, sending back striking images of Triton’s ice volcano remnants and a tortured terrain.
