Local Ukiah social notes show a busy community week

Bert Cleland and family departed for Santa Cruz. Atty LD Hargis traveled from San Francisco to Manila on business. Dr. Allen and wife visited Mrs. Hargis, Al Brunner and wife returned from southern California with gambling winnings later clarified as misattributed. Many residents traveled to San Francisco Humboldt County and Elk Creek for business, hunting, or visits. Notables include Rev McKnight, J R Smith, Mrs Will Owsley, Rowena, Deputy Clerk Willis Prather, Marion Gibson at Caspar Lumber, Guy Redwine surveying for the U S government, and Dr Fred Wooley’s weekend in Ukiah. Numerous residents registered in Ukiah and Chamber events noted with shops advertising beauty services.

Redemeyer Cunningham Suit Set for Next Tuesday

The second trial of Otis Redemeyer versus John Cunningham to settle ownership of land near the Gobbi winery will be heard in superior court before a jury next Tuesday. The prior trial resulted in a hung jury. Judge Butler of Marin county will preside.

Many new gages in the superior court

Citizens note a long list of cases in the superior court including several divorces final decrees and references to commissioners. Workman Heads to Santa Barbara for Large Mendocino Firm Contract

Willits, Sept 14. W S Bailey left last week for Santa Barbara county where he has a $25,000 contract for concrete work and plastering. Irving, born in Ukiah and raised there, has been working at Willits since Army discharge. When people want good work they have to send to Mendocino county.

Judge Robert Redwine traveled from Covelo on business Wednesday. Robert Austin and wife returned from Sacramento where they oversaw Mendocino county booth at the state fair. E J Moore came from Potter Valley on a brief trip. Will Owsley, Potter Valley rancher, traveled down from that area yesterday.
