Pioneer Matron Isabel Brenner Dies at Beaverhead
Mrs Isabel White Brenner a pioneer resident of Beaverhead county died at Barrett hospital after a short illness. Born in Freeport Pennsylvania 71 years ago she moved west after marrying John C Brenner in 1874 and lived in Horse Prairie most of her life. Survived by three sons Henry William P and Charles J Brenner and several grandchildren funeral held at St James Episcopal church with Rev H N Tragitt officiating interment at Mountain View cemetery.

Large Pea Crop Harvested Here in Beaverhead County
Beaverhead county farmers expect a bumper seed pea crop for harvest. Roy W Ferguson of Rogers Bros Seed Co Idaho Falls notes about ten carloads or 6500 bags will be shipped this fall a larger yield than last year. Veterans Meet in Dillon for Mining District Assembly
World war veterans from Legion posts across southern and western Montana gathered in Dillon for the autumn convention. Delegates backed keeping ex service men in public office and urged posts to ensure postmasters are veterans. The autumn quarter at Montana State Normal College will begin Monday September 25 with registration for early arrivals the prior Saturday. President S J Davis reports steady enrollment and more upper division students pursuing degrees. An inaugural "freshman afternoon" will include guidance tests to aid individual study plans. Also noted, Beaverhead county sold 60 000 to 70 000 lambs last week, mainly to Idaho feed lots. Packers from Wilson Co Cudahy Swift and others have shown interest. prices ranged 5 to 5 1/2 cents.

Anaconda Couple Wed Despite Age Dispute
Leo Smith and Mary Louise Rivers of Anaconda married Tuesday morning at the courthouse by Judge Louis Stahl. Dillon officers searched for them that afternoon but did not find them. Officers noted the girl’s claimed age as over 18 though court records showed she was under 16.

New Federal Public Works Program to Hire 100 Men
Supervisor A. A. Simpson announced a Wagner act re employment plan to place about 100 men on fencing projects in Beaverhead and Madison counties.
