A Dillon Horse Sales sale last Monday drew ranchers led by George Ditty and Dr. W C Orr. About 1200 head from Medicine Lodge Horse Prairie Centennial Blacktail and other areas were corralled at Armstead and driven to Dillon. unsold horses were shipped to Butte for canning.

Death of John Taylor long-time Dillon resident
John Taylor 82 a longtime Dillon resident died suddenly at his Railroad avenue home Wednesday evening. Born in New York City he came to Dillon with the railroad in 1880 and lived here ever since known as Colonel Taylor. Survived by his wife a daughter Mrs William Tash and two sons John of Dillon and Tom of Butte. Funeral Friday at 2 pm from the house with Rev Clarence Parlour of St James Episcopal church officiating and burial in Mountain View cemetery.

F D James, an aged inmate of the corney farm, died Sunday night after a lingering illness. The remains lie at Brundage parlors awaiting word from relatives. He had resided here for years and worked on county ranches. A sister is located in Texas and no relatives reside in this section.

A Buick sedan owned by Mose Smythe of Blaine overturned on the Anaconda-Butte highway near Gregson. Moriarity died at the scene, Sam Williams died next day, William Loughran remained seriously injured, Alden Telin escaped unharmed and sought help after aiding the victims. Moriarity’s body and top were removed to Great Falls for burial with family.

Danish born prospector Jorgen Bertelsen known as Dutch George died at Barrett hospital after weeks as an aging Bannack pioneer. He spent 30 years in Bon Accord district near Bannack, mined fortunes, held mining claims, and left a brother in Denmark. A feud with partner Frank Webber lingered as local legend.
