County Well Represented at District Conventions Weekend
Beaverhead county will be well represented at Montana Education Association district conventions in Lutte Great Falls Miles City and Kalispell this weekend. Fourteen musicians from the county will take part in state concerts and educators have places on the program. Superintendent Charles Henry presides Saturday morning in Butte and Conrad Orr will toast at the southwestern district banquet Friday night in Butte Country Club.

Beaverhead high school six man football defeated Granite County Philipsburg 26 13 to notch their first win. Don Wheat and Jack Stieb sparked early drives with long runs and a touchdown pass to Stieb. Wheat later intercepted a pass and returned 25 yards for the final score as Beaverhead improved to 1 0 on the season.

Hunter Found Sunday After Night Search
John C. Orr, father of Conrad Orr and local high school principal, was lost overnight while deer hunting in the Birch creek area. He used rifle signals to guide his search party, built a fire to endure the night, and was found near dawn by his son Sheriff Paul Temple and others. He endured hunger and thirst but stayed safe.

A Dillon venture launches chinchilla farming with thirteen pairs imported from Chapmans Chinchillas Incorporated. In honor of Montana pioneers a pioneer day program will be given at the training school auditorium Monday November 1 at 2 30 o clock. The public is invited to participate. Mrs Waldorf's Mother Dies in Michigan
Mary J Van de Walker, mother of Mrs A F Waldorf, died October 26 in Kalamazoo Michigan after three weeks at bedside. A Dillon resident for five years when Pauline taught piano at Normal College she was a minister's wife who devoted life to social and religious services. Surviving relatives include twin sisters and three daughters including Mrs Cora van Lopik of Mattawan Michigan.
