Recreational Use Rises in Beaverhead National Forest
Beaverhead National Forest reports about 89 000 recreational visitors with 15 175 from out of state or foreign countries. Idaho leads out-of-state visitors with 4 960, followed by California 2 495 and Washington 1 760, while 22 800 were counted as transients and 14 000 used the forest for scenic purposes. Six thousand hunters, 18 000 fishermen and 5 050 winter sports enthusiasts are recorded among the activity categories alongside campers, picnickers and other enjoyment events.

Two Dead in Plane Crash Near Reichle Beaverhead county
Beaverhead county reports its first fatal air crash near Reichle last Sunday afternoon. Pilot Joseph Polish 24 and his passenger Mrs Rudolph Polish died when an open cockpit monoplane crashed into a rocky hillside after takeoff from a nearby field. Coroner's inquest cited a defective wing as the cause. Polish shielded his passenger as the plane fell. Funeral services held for Joseph Polish at St Rose Church Lima and for Mrs Polish at Brundage Chapel.
