Butte Man Addresses Rotary Club on Community Progress

Dr. Curtis L. Wilson of the Montana School of Mines spoke at the Dillon Rotary Club dinner meeting on Highways to Community Progress. He urged local service, cited imagination, common sense, gold, courage and cooperation as vital, likening Rotarians to lamplighters. The talk included anecdotes, with presiding officer Fred Woodside. Next meeting will feature George L. Shue demonstrating sound transmission.

Branch Returned to Illinois Prison

Robert Branch was handed over from a county jail to a traveling guard and will be returned to Joliet to serve an uncompleted nine year term as a parole violator. He was arrested in Valley City North Dakota on a car theft charge, with earlier paroles and prison terms in Nebraska and Illinois noted.

The Birch Creek CCC camp was reoccupied Friday by 190 Civilian Conservation Corps youths from the Many, Glacier camp in Glacier National Park. The company, under the command of night, consists mainly of boys from Missouri, Arkansas, and Nebraska.

Six Dillon Musicians In Montana All State Orchestra

Six Beaverhead County high school musicians earned spots in the Montana all state orchestra for the Montana Education Association convention in Billings. The 120 member ensemble will perform Friday at 5 30 p m and Saturday at 9 a m with plans to broadcast the concert. Man Charged With Signing Fictitious Instrument

Charles Green was taken into custody Thursday morning by Dellar Gordon deputy sheriff on a charge of signing a fictitious instrument. Greene allegedly passed two forged checks at the Metlen hotel and J C Penney Co signing the name of Martha Wilson to the checks.

St Peters Edges Dillon Beavers 7-0 in Renewed Rivalry

In Anaconda on Saturday, St Peters defeated the Dillon Beavers 7-0 in a tightly contested game. The decisive score came in the final quarter on a 25 yard pass to the nine yard line followed by a punch in. Dillon advanced into Saint Peters territory several times but could not score.

Vaccinations Urged Against Smallpox in Local Meeting
