The Birchdale Stock Farm owned by J. E. Morse harvested 80,863 bushels from 1,248 acres, averaging 65 bushels per acre with some fields over 100. The crop, mainly oats, required 24 days of threshing and produced about 3.43 million pounds, enough to fill 100 cars. Accident Leaves J. D. Murphy Arm Amputated
A man identified as J. D. Murphy was crushed by train wheels while riding a coal train near Barretts station. He awoke to find his left arm crushed and a scalp wound. doctors amputated between elbow and shoulder. Murphy, about 30, traveled from Idaho to Butte seeking work with $17.50 on his person and is reported to be in stable condition at the county hospital. He was brought to Dillon by section foreman John Jones and crew.

John Bradwell died at his father’s Argenta home after a brief illness from pneumonia aged 34. He had lived in Bannack and Birch creek areas, was the son of pioneer Robert Bradwell, and left a brother in Dillon and a married sister in Washington state. The funeral was held at his deceased’s home in Argenta with Rev. E C Horn officiating.

In Dart's hall on Saturday the Woman's Relief Corps staged its first public entertainment since forming in Dillon. Flora Craver wrote a patriotic poem read by Mrs. A. B. Martin, with others performing songs, recitations, and a dance. The program drew a good attendance and netted about $15 for the corps.

Drowned Sunday Virginia Aikens Infant Daughter Dies
