New State Normal College Dormitory Completed in Dillon
The new dormitory of the State Normal College in Dillon is finished and handed to the school board. Built with a 25 000 appropriation and a 17 980 contract, it features 43 feet 10 inches by 89 feet 7 inches, three stories, a basement dining room, hospital room, twelve to fourteen rooms per floor, and modern heating and furnishings supplied by local firms. Wortman & Son oversaw construction with local sub contractors and praised workmen Forrester Knotts & Dunbar, Hughes & McCaleb supplied paints, and Dillon Lumber supplied wood. The board plans a center wing and a training school building in the near future.

Woman Survives Fall After Nurse Accident
Mrs Hughes mother of George Hughes endured a near fatal fall Wednesday evening after entering the wrong door and tumbling down cellar stairs. She suffers a seriously sprained neck and lies in Senator Murray’s home. The incident occurred while assisting Mrs Cliff Bond as a nurse.

Englishman John Turner Arrested for Anarchy Speech
On October 24 in New York a warrant issued by Secretary Cortelyou led police to Murray Hill Lyceum where John Turner an Englishman was arrested for inciting and promoting anarchy under alien labor laws. Turner taken by revenue cutter to Ellis Island. authorities say he has preached anarchist ideas across cities.

Pioneer Woman Mary Nyhart Dies After Long Montana Life
Mrs. Mary Nyhart died October 23 1903 after a long Montana life begun in Dodgeville Iowa in 1864. She helped settle Virginia City and later moved to Point of Rocks ranch with G W Nyhart. She leaves eleven children seven sons and one daughter. Funeral services were held at the Dillon Presbyterian church with Rev Dr Martin delivering the address.

Foot of Wilson Man Crushed by Water Tank Wheel
Tom Wilson of Wilson Bros threshing outfit had his left foot crushed Saturday night on the Frying Pan bridge. The water tank wheel rolled onto his foot, the engine reversed after half a minute and the wheel backed off. No bones broken, one toe cracked. swelling and pain linger as he hobble on crutches.

Normal College Hosts Grand Opening Dormitory Reception
A large Dillon crowd attended Friday’s reception by the State Normal College board for the new dormitory. Gov. and Mrs. White led the host committee with other local dignitaries assisting. The event featured dancing in the new dining hall, gowns, music, and refreshments, highlighting the college’s ties to the community. Seven hundred guests were served, and the hosts funded the expenses from their own pockets.
