Lost hunter takes longest way home in twenty mile hike
Phil Lyons of Lima went missing last Thursday afternoon in the Upper Grasshopper district. A wide search by Rev. Timothy Clifford Muggs McGrath and John Jackson led to Lyons entering a camp on Warm Springs creek the next day after hiking over the divide. The sheriff organized a posse and mobilized Birch Creek CCC forces before word arrived Lyons was found unharmed.

Frederick H. Thompson, longtime resident of Dillon, died Sunday at Barrett hospital after a recent operation. Born April 22, 1890 in Bannack, he lived in the county most of his life and is survived by six sisters and four brothers. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Brundage chapel with Rev. J. A. Meeke presiding.

Esteemed Dillon Woman Dies After Lingering Illness
Miss Frankie Lewis aged 69 died this morning after a lingering illness in Dillon. Born in Glasgow Missouri she came to Montana in 1889 and Dillon in 1890 where she lived. She is survived by a sister a brother and several nieces and nephews. Funeral at Brundage chapel at 2 30 with Rev W J Loar officiating and burial at Mountain View cemetery. A telegram from Merrion and Wilkins Ogden Utah details high graded wool prices for Montanas Beaverhead County. Also report of ducks killed by a hunter in a slough described as ground sluicing and named as Mr and Mrs Peter J Peterson.

Dillon hosted six democratic candidates for state and national offices in an enthusiastic rally at the training school auditorium. Speakers included Sen. James J. Murray and Roy E. Ayers defending administration policies. Other speakers were Ray Shannon, Hugh Adair, John J. Holmes, and Horace Casey with Rep. Joe Mellen introducing them. Hunters bagged deer. An information was filed in the district court charging Marvin Aullman with grand larceny. Leonard Schulz was appointed as his attorney. Aullman and his brother Jack were arrested following a complaint of butchering a calf on the Don Albee ranch in the Big Hole basin around Sept. 16. The Ry e brothers were booked under the names Jack and Merle Coleman. Deputy State Game Warden Charles Price made the arrest on a game law violation charge, with further infractions suspected in the bounty over recent weeks.
