Oregon Short Line designates livestock days
Effective October 18 the Oregon Short Line Railroad designates Tuesdays and Saturdays as regular livestock shipping days. A stock train will depart Butte at about 8 00 a m collecting livestock from Silver Bow to Lima, improving service and reducing delays. Livestock will still move on other days, but Tuesdays and Saturdays receive extra train service.

Dillon Students Attend Sheridan Stock Exhibit
Mr. Thurber and 16 ag students attended a Sheridan stock exhibit last Thursday. The event featured beef cattle swine sheep and dairy cows with Montana grown feeds and hay in the feeds car and wool from the Montana Woolgrowers association. The group toured Otto Schulz farm viewing feed barns pure bred sheep and watering systems and learned about sheep care and feed.

Pioneering rancher J C Wall of Dell dies after stroke
Joseph C Wall a pioneer rancher near Dell Montana died Thursday at his home after a paralytic stroke suffered Wednesday afternoon. Born November 9 1856 in Pittsburgh Pa he moved to Beaverhead County 40 years ago and lived two miles from Dell. Survived by daughters Mrs Mansfield and Mrs Bichler and sons Clarence and William. Funeral at St Rose Catholic Church Saturday morning.

Anaconda high school defeated Dillon 13 to 6 as Bubash scored early in the second half on a 22 yard run with Moran. Anaconda led 115 yards to 15 in the first half and eight first downs to Dillon’s three. Dillon threatened late but fell short as Beal and Connelly anchored the defense.
