Dillon held a combined community day and junior fair drawing over 200 visitors at the high school and city buildings. The Ag club displayed grain, hay, vegetables, livestock, and cooking and sewing exhibits with two dollar and one dollar prizes. a banquet at the tourist park followed by demonstrations and a program at the city hall highlighted by Frank Venable's talk on community spirit.

White cafe proprietor runs barefoot for pennant bet

States raise gas taxes to fund roads nationwide
All states fund roads with federal aid through gas taxes. Only four avoid this, relying on bonds. Since 1926 twenty eight states have introduced or raised gas taxes. Texas lifted from one to three cents. Montana's two-cent tax allocates little to the state. Initiative Good Roads Bill No 81 adds one cent, all to state share to match federal aid, totaling 36 million dollars over ten years to complete and maintain 4700 miles of highway across counties.

Blue Bird Gas Station Opens With Modern Montana Equipment
Dillon unveils a new Bluebird Oil station on Idaho and Glendale streets by the Bluebird Oil company of Butte. W C Updegraff manages the facility featuring two gas pumps, automatic grease gun, steam cleaning for motors, and an air stand for precise tire pressure. On opening day a quart of Bluebird oil is given with every five gallons of gas. The gas is advertised as 100 percent Montana refined with dollars staying in the state.

Butte Man Buried Here In Dillon Funeral Held
The remains of Richard Evans who died in Butte Monday evening arrived in Dillon Thursday morning and funeral services were held at the Brundage chapel that afternoon with Rev H B Ricketts of the Methodist church officiating. Evans was not a native of Dillon but wished to be buried here and is survived by his wife and three children two girls and a boy.
