Andy Ziegler, a longtime rancher on the lower Big Hole river, lies near death at Barrett hospital from two bullet wounds and a shattered left wrist after a Monday night shooting at his Ziegler rack near the canyon. Authorities questioned him but gained no usable information. a .88 caliber revolver was found nearby. No arrests have been made as investigators pursue leads.

At the fair grounds on a snow covered field Dillon fans watched the Beaver lineup fight a hard battle against the seasoned Anaconda team. Anaconda won 6 to 0 as the Beaver defense thwarted three goal line drives and a strong punt duel kept scoring low. Balkovatz of Anaconda scored the visitors only touchdown early in the first quarter.

Mrs Yearian Honored in Miami on 91st Birthday
Mrs. Sarah Yearian, longtime resident of Dillon and mother of Mrs. Cora Rathbone of Miami, celebrated her 91st birthday with several social events. She lived in Idaho before moving to Dillon in 1901 with her late husband Z B Yeaman. The family includes a California born son, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Old Doc Stork Returns After Record Birth

Death of Thomas Guilfoyle Found Near Ranch West of Town
The body of ranchman Thomas Guilfoyle, age 54, was found near a ditch west of the fair grounds, believed to have died from a heart attack last Monday while irrigating. He had been missing for days. Roscoe Cornell and Cornell ranch employees located the body. A native of Fulton Kansas, born August 12 1871, he had run the Guilfoyle ranch west of town since about 1922. Relatives include cousin Martin Quigley in the Big Hole basin and other kin in Kansas. Funeral plans undisclosed.

The Madison forest area reported a Class C fire near Hutchins covering about 28 acres with 12 men fighting the flames. Investigators traced the blaze to a careless smoker, marking the tenth man caused fire in Bea verhead National forest this year, a new high for preventable fires.

State game laws set open season for pheasants and partridges
At a Helena meeting September 27 28 29 1932 the Montana state fish and game commission declared an open season on male Chinese and Mongolian pheasants and on Hungarian partridges of either sex with several county and area closures.
