A small fire in the furnace room of the Yeaman building across from City Hall was quickly suppressed by the fire department’s chemical engine. Boxes of window glass burned, some shattered by the stream, and smoke filled the Thomas book store Princess millinery and the Dixie rooming house. Mr. Thomas raised the alarm from the basement. goods suffered smoke damage but overall losses are not expected to be large.
