Meteor flash lights up valley sighting reported
Mrs. K. D. Hock reported a meteor seen around 10 45 Monday morning flashing northeast to southwest across the valley and vanishing over the M on foothills west of the city. The fireball glowed white hot with a colored illuminated tail and was heard by few.

Annual Charity Ball At Dillon Park Draws 1500
The Dillon Lodge No. 1554 event at Dillmont Park drew about 1500 attendees. Food donations exceed 500 dollars in value, including canned goods and staples, setting a new record for the charity drive. Local Angler Earns National Fishing Honor
Earl Walker, a longtime local angler from Dillon, placed sixth in the Rainbow steelhead division of Field and Stream's national big fish contest. He caught a 9.5 pound Rainbow from the Big Hole river on July 22. Oregon fisherman won top honors with a 15.5 pound trout from the Umpqua river. Walker follows Walter Schmittroth as a Dillon winner after Schmittroth's 1931 first place Rainbow of 15 pounds 8 ounces.

Wisdom youth dies after accidental rifle discharge
Philip Terrio twenty, a ranch hand from the Big Hole basin, died Monday night near Wisdom after a .22 rifle discharged while he reached for a shell during rabbit hunting. He was on a car running board when the accident occurred and died before aid arrived. Coroner James Phillips reported no inquest. Hi M. Brundage to take charge of the remains.

Beaverhead county reported the highest cattle and sheep totals on January 1, 1935 per the preliminary 1935 Federal Farm Census released by Census Director William L. Austpere. Cattle reached 75,807 in 1936, up 12 percent since 1980, while sheep totaled 245,642, well ahead of Blaine.

A back storage room at Bannack operated by Thompson Gold Mining was robbed last Thursday night with over 100 dollars of merchandise taken. Sheriff James A Mc Collum reported the theft after dawn the next day and noted a trick used to transport items. Clerk Mrs Joe Burroughs discovered the robbery when the store opened Friday morning. no arrests have been made.
