Butchers of Cattle Are Apprehended in Anaconda Case
Emmett Shandy, charged with butchering cattle on ranges in Beaverhead and Powell counties, received a seven year state prison sentence in Anaconda after pleading guilty. Jim Elmose, an accomplice, pleaded not guilty with trial set for November 29. Sheriff Temple and county sheriffs say the arrests may break a cattle rustling ring operating in the Big Hole basin and surrounding counties.

Several Arrests Made by Patrolman In Montana

The Dillon Elks lodge hosted an Anaconda visit with a dance at the city hall auditorium. A combined drum and bugle corps performed in a street exhibition, followed by a lunch featuring hot elk sandwiches prepared by local hunters. Boxing class members from Butte headlined a bout led by Troy Evans.

Benson Boy Drowns Near Benson Farm Home
Two year old Robert Arnold Benson, son of Mr and Mrs Arnold Benson, was found drowned late Tuesday afternoon in Carter slough behind the Benson farm home on Twin Bridges road. He had crawled through a hole in the fence and fell into the creek. Discovery occurred about 5 30 p m. Dr E G Free attended but the child died. He was born September 7 1935 in Livingston and is survived by his parents and grandparents in Dillon and Bellingham. Funeral services will be held at
