Ten Per Cent Margin Fixed By Local Merchants
Retail grocers of Beaverhead and Madison counties adopted a ten per cent margin for cost of doing business under the Montana fair trade practice act. The plan, announced by Associated Merchants of Montana officials, takes effect December 15. Dean Robert C. Line of the State University faculty and G. R. Vokel of Stanford assisted the meeting attended by about twenty merchants. Madison county merchants were contacted to align under the Beaverhead agreement.

Former Dillon Rancher Nels Nelson Dies in Deer Lodge
Nels Nelson, a well known former rancher who later operated in Powell county, died Friday at Deer Lodge. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Marks Lutheran church in Butte with interment at Mountain View cemetery. Local and Wisdom residents attended with family members from several Dillon, Deer Lodge areas.

Two Arrests By Game Warden Highlight Season Violations
Deputy Charles Price made two arrests this week for game law violations. George Butala of Dillon was arrested Tuesday for shooting ducks out of season. He pled guilty and paid a 27.50 fine. Charles Richardson of Lima faced musk rat trapping charges, pled not guilty, and posted 100 bond.

Community Committees to Be Elected in County

William Brennan aged 69 and a county resident since 1898 died early Wednesday at the county farm. Born January 24 1868 in Clinton Illinois he is survived by brothers Ed and John Brennan whose addresses are unknown. Funeral date not set.

Dillon residents set aside daily routines for a quiet Thanksgiving with family reunions and out of town guests. Prisoners in the county jail were served a full turkey dinner per Sheriff Paul Temple. Fans watched the Butte Billings game and the Montana Grizzlies final Missoula appearance, while churches conducted morning services at St James Episcopal Lutheran and Methodist union services.

Edward Smith Dies After Brief Illness Ranchman Remembered
Edward C. Smith a prominent Beaverhead county ranchman died at his Dillon home after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the Masonic hall with Rev Edward Smith of Bozeman officiating. Burial followed in Mountain View cemetery. He was 77 and spent 71 years in Beaverhead county. He married Rosa Ripley in 1889 and was active in ranching and sheep raising. Surviving relatives include two sisters, two brothers, two sons Emery and Harry, a daughter Mrs William Leimert, seven grandchildren, and other relatives.

Christmas Seals Aiding TB Fight Reach Montana
The Christmas seals project mobilizes thousands of volunteers to place TB awareness stamps on holiday mail. Last year Tuberculosis claimed 220 Montana lives. Mrs. Frank Willis leads the effort with aides Mrs. Carl Taylor Miss Genevieve Albertson and Miss June Roe, aided by four Dilfon Girl Scout troops. Remittances go to H. H.
