T. J. Mulaney Dies. Dillon Pioneer Remembered
Thomas J. Mulaney, longtime Dillon resident and Beaverhead county businessman, died at his Rail Way avenue home about 3 o'clock Monday morning at age 82. Born in Batavia New York he moved to Dillon in 1882 and held roles from threshing contractor to sheriff and bank stockholder. He was known for acts of kindness and his enduring community involvement. Funeral services were held Thursday at Brundage funeral home with burial in Mountain View cemetery.

Coroner James F. Phillips and Sheriff J A McCollum investigated the death of John L. Teal assistant cashier of Metals Bank and Trust in Butte found with a gunshot wound in the Wire Silver Beaverhead county. An inquest ruled death caused by a gunshot from an unknown party. A shot was heard nearby the day before Teal’s death as he rested by a log with his rifle nearby.

Victim Dies From Assault at Thompson Ranch
George Winters 65 died at Barrett hospital from injuries after being struck with a block of wood at the Thompson ranch near Dell on November 9. Jesse Moore fled the scene and faces first degree assault charges. murder may be filed with a winter term trial set to open December 3.

Charity Ball Set for Saturday at City Hall
The annual charity ball at city hall Saturday evening, Nov. 24, will feature two or three orchestras and planned entertainment. Admission is 25 cents worth of foodstuff per person, with trade supplies to be delivered the night of the dance.
