Beaverhead board of commissioners canvassed the general election results Thursday with few changes from the unofficial tally. Total registration 4,180, votes cast 3,377. F C Medden’s lead for public administrator widened, Crosby gains trimmed Sheriff McCollum’s margin, and three justice of the peace totals are given for Dillon and Lima townships. Amendments passed on consolidations and taxes in the county.

Annual Red Cross Roll Call Under Way Countywide Drive
The annual Red Cross roll call has begun with signs of a successful drive. It will continue until the county quota is met, Chanman J C Fuller said. Active countywide effort starts next Saturday with booths planned at the Dellon banks and post office, under the local campaign manager Mrs Florence Backus.

Butte Man Found Dead Near Melrose
A Butte resident was found dead in the Glendale hills near Melrose. Corner James Phillips received word Wednesday afternoon. The deceased's name and details were not learnable. H. M. Brugnage accompanied the coroner and the body was taken to Butte.

Police Force Reduced by City Council Action
The city council cut the police force from four to three officers after a regular meeting held last week at city hall. Veteran officer Charles Bourquin was suspended. Chief Charles Nelson will regulate the remaining officers' hours. the council warned beer taverns to better control disturbances and underage patrons or face a dancing ban and possible license revocation.

Edward Ries Weathers Severe Crash Near Airport
Edward Ries was cut about the head and arms and suffered a crushed chest when his car overturned near the airport last Wednesday. The machine was badly wrecked and the cause of the accident was not learned.

Armistice Day Observed With Beaverhead Legion Program
Beaverhead post of the American Legion and the Legion auxiliary held a sixteenth anniversary Armistice Day program at Hartwig theatre. Attorney T. E. Gilbert gave the patriotic address as part of an hour long program. The speech reflected on the end of World War I and the ongoing suffering of former prisoners and those affected by war.

Aged Man Recovering From Murdersous Blow At Thompson Ranch
George Winters aged 65 was brought to Barrett hospital with a fractured skull after being struck from behind by Jesse Moore 49 at the Thompson ranch bunkhouse near Dell. Moore fled the scene and was arrested near a sheep wagon in a hill hideout and is jailed in Dillon on first degree assault charges. Winters shows some improvement and recovery is hoped. Moore says little and planned to surrender if Winters dies.

Dillon Lodge No 1554 BPOE completed plans for the annual charity ball to be held at the city hall auditorium on Saturday night November 24.
