County to Receive Part of Forest Receipts
Beaverhead county will get 6472.07 as its share of National Forest receipts for the fiscal year ending June 30 1924 per J B Somers supervisor of the Beaverhead National Forest. Since creation the county has received 103013.53. The 25 percent of receipts is returned to states and apportioned among counties based on relative acreage. Funds support roads and schools and offset tax losses from forest land ownership. Montana totals 82786.75 Idaho 131626.24 Washington 89043.44 South Dakota 24434.98. Montana’s grand total to date is 1361576.18 and Idaho’s 1566925.44.
