Beaverhead Legion committees report a full Fourth of July program starting with a sunrise salute and a registered shoot by the Dillon Gun club. Events include four hours of entertainment at the fair grounds with a canoe race finale and a late afternoon picnic at Dillmont park followed by a dance. A 26 piece band led by L A Gregory rehearses for the day, with hoped attendance of Silver Bow and Butte drum and bugle corps to add color and ceremony.

Victim of Spotted Fever Dies at Barrett Hospital
Fred Teabo aged about 65 died at Barrett hospital Monday evening from Rocky Mountain spotted fever contracted about a week earlier while working on a ranch near Armstead. He had lived locally for years and worked on area ranches. Authorities seek relatives. funeral plans not yet made.

W F McAvoy Dies After Sudden Illness
William F. McAvoy, longtime Dillon businessman and former Corner Cigar Store owner, died suddenly at his North Montana home after a heart attack. He was 69, born in Boston and spent years in Colorado mining camps before moving to Dillon in 1917. A sister in Walden survives. Funeral Saturday at Bromage Chapel with Dillon Lodge No. 1554 arranging, burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

CCC Boys Prove to Be Worthy Hosts at Dance
A large number of Dillon residents and ranch people attended the reception and dance at the Birch Creek CCC camp last Saturday evening. Nell's Dance Band provided music in the new mess hall with refreshments served at the end. Visitors were impressed by the camp’s equipment and the cordial welcome.

Dillon Matron Mrs Harnett Drummey Dies at Home
Mrs Harnett Drummey a longtime Dillon resident and devout St Rose parish member died at her South Atlantic street home after a two month illness. Born January 31 1859 in Dubuque Iowa she came to Dillon in 1902 with her late husband W F Drummey and ran a ranch north of the city before retiring. Survived by five sons Edward J E and Tom in Seattle William in Richmond California two daughters Mrs H M Bramidage and Mrs A B Terry Seattle a brother E H Sherman Helena and several grandchildren and great grandchildren Requiem high mass was held at St Rose church and burial was at Mountain View cemetery Funeral attendees included sons Edward and Tom Drummey and Mrs Terry of Seattle.

Dillon Gun Club Wins State Telegraph Trapshoot
For the fourth consecutive year Dillon Gun club captured the Stand ard telegraphic trapshoot defeating Havre and Helena in the final event last Sunday. The club scored 73 to lead nine clubs in the state with an season average of 875. Herman Peterson shot a 25 in Oklahoma as Dillon competitors posted 24s to secure the win. Sheridan finished tied with Helena and Havre at 72.

Stop Sign Ordinance Enforced on Dillon State Route
Mayor D A Galt announced stricter enforcement of the two stop signs on the Dillon state highway. He cited two collisions and several arrests for failures to stop and warned police will now strictly enforce the regulation. Dell resident Scott attended to city business Tuesday.

Federal Building Plans Received For Dill Project
Postmaster Harry J. Andrus announced a complete set of plans for a new federal building to be built in Dill this summer after bids were called. The 172 by 66 foot structure will be 39 feet high with concrete and brick construction and will house post office, forestry, extension departments, and offices on the second floor. The design includes a stepped Idaho street entry with lamps, five window bays, a large lobby, a left wing mail boxes, a two-story layout of offices, a service area, vaults, a basement with storage and fuel, and a Sebree street driveway with a concrete platform and modern equipment such as sliding doors and indirect lighting.

The town baseball squad defeated the Normal College Bulldogs 9 to 8 in a seven inning game agreed to extend from five. Callahan pitched well for the town while Vandegrift homered and scored seven of the nine, with Robinson on the mound for the Bulldogs and Osbourn and Budaily standout on the bases. Carl Webster umpired the contest.

Scout meeting opens with laws and tests in training school
