Men Defeat Girls in Archery Meet at Dillon
Dillon held its first archery meet last Wednesday evening behind the Normal College. The town team, all men, defeated the Normal girls 788 to 658 as William Dunn led the town with 252 points and Bertha Takala led the Normal with 169 in front of a large gallery.

County raid nets large still in Medicine Lodge area
Sheriff James McCollum Deputy Pat Flynn and two state agents John Reardon and J H Burger seized a about 150 gallon still on Poole creek in Medicine Lodge Tuesday afternoon. The deserted premises yielded no arrests though officers believe they know the operator. A 1500 gallon vat and 500 gallons of mash were destroyed along with other equipment. The still was housed in a large tent and water piped in through iron pipe and an old fire hose.

Summer School Opens Monday June 17 for six weeks
The Montana summer training school begins Monday June 17 and runs six weeks. State funding covers all costs, offering help for students with low grades to strengthen work. The Beaverhead home demonstration council held its annual business meeting Monday afternoon at the courthouse with reps from most county affiliated groups. Lillian Stone reviewed last year’s work and Bernard Williams outlined next year’s outlook. Pneumonia Claims Life of Birch Creek CCC Worker
Loyd Murthy, an 18 year old CCC worker from Ohio, native of Fredericksburg, died at Barrett hospital after a brief pneumonia illness. He had been part of a contingent from Ohio and was sent to Missoula and then home in the East.
