Funeral services for Adam Maier late Reichle resident who died last week in Grangeville Idaho were held Sunday at St James Episcopal church with Rev H N Tragitt officiating and interment in Mountain View cemetery. A large Reichle crowd attended to honor the esteemed ranchman and former resident. Warren Murray left Thursday for Elko Nevada to take a bookkeeping job with a dairy firm.

Vigilante Days Revival Planned by Beaverhead Post
Beaverhead post of the American Legion eyes a July Dillon event to celebrate the town’s fiftieth anniversary and rename the post Vigilante post. Plans call for a grand costume ball with prizes for best period characterization and displays of historic woodcuts and tin types to evoke 1860s style. D. W. Paddock and W. MacMannis secured an old stagecoach donation now on North Montana street for possible display on the depot lawn.

At a large Beaverhead county gathering of ranchers at the court house last Saturday an association was formed to prevent range losses and livestock theft. About 75 members attended. A L Anderson was named temporary chairman and Fred Rife secretary. A permanent committee includes Brenner, Nay, Peterson, McKnight and Albers. The next meeting is planned for Saturday afternoon June 14 at the court house to finalize plans.

A class of 24 graduates of the training school received diplomas at exercises held Wednesday afternoon in the auditorium. Miss Genevieve Albertson delivered the commencement address. Idaho Doctor Dies While Fishing Near Lima
Dr. C. J. Baugh of Pocatello collapsed and died suddenly last Monday evening while fishing near Lima. H. M. Brundage summoned from the city arranged for the burial in Pocatello. The physician had arrived with friends a day earlier and heart trouble is thought to be the cause.

Montana fishing closures listed for Beaverhead county
The current Montana Wildlife notes streams and lakes in Beaverhead County closed to year round fishing include the Big Hole and Redrock rivers within 300 feet below the dam. Upper and Lower Bedrock lakes and connecting channel have suspensions. Birch Creek above the ranger station and Birch Creek lakes remain closed until July 10. Agnes Lake remains closed to July 1 in addition to the standard season.

Two Small Fires During the Week Reported
The volunteer fire department fought two minor blazes this week. A warehouse in Crystal Graphite company railroad yards caught fire from a tramp’s cigarette and was put out with chemical agents, causing light damage. The Mayfield blacksmith shop roof on Center street also smoldered and was extinguished with minimal damage.

John O Lee Claimed Monday In Dillon
John O Lee aged resident of the Birch Creek section died Monday morning at his homestead after a lingering illness. He was a carpenter in his early years, later living a secluded life. Born in Norway in 1852 he came to America as a youth and worked in mining and ranching. His nephew Emil Thordalson of Valley City North Dakota notified and journeyed to Dillon to arrange the remains.

Record trout displays thrill Dillon anglers at local venues
Early season trout catches drew interest in Dillon with five large fish exhibited in the Mint Hall window caught at Hidden lake by Louis Schmittroth, Ernest Sill, and Glenn Lyon. Three more fish, eight to twelve pounds each, were shown at Brundage pool hall caught at Wade lake by W. F. Tallent and Frank Poole.
