Lucy Hammond Clifford, former Dillon resident, died after a months long illness at her Hepworth Ontario home. Beloved wife of William Clifford, she was born 1865 in Ellerslie township, married 29 years ago, and survived by four brothers James, William, George, Rueben and sister Mrs Wesley Wark. Funeral services were conducted by Rev W D Clark with interment at Zion cemetery. large turnout indicated high community esteem.

Tex Kelner Hurt In Queer Mishap
Tex Kelner a noted sheepman from Sheep Creek basin was badly bruised and cut after his horse kicked and dragged him for nearly four miles. A rope loop around his waist tightened on the saddle horn as he dismounted causing the animal to bolt. Found two hours later he was treated in Dell and two hours later a Dillon physician deemed the injuries miraculous.

Auto Thieves Escape With Two Ford Cars Last Week
Sheriff Mooney traced two Ford cars stolen last Saturday night in Dillon. A coupe owned by C. W. Morrison of the Montana State College band was taken during a band concert at the Normal, and a touring car belonging to George Rebich was removed from in front of the Hartwig theater. Despite a search into Idaho and ongoing police efforts, no trace has been found.

Predatory Bird Drive Promises Heavy Hunt Totals
The third annual drive targets magpies crows and hawks with nearly 50 hunters signed up. Officials expect more birds killed than in the first two drives combined as nesting birds and hatchlings are counted. The event runs from daylight to 7:30 pm with trophies at City Hall. Captains Ed Burles and C T Magnus lead teams, losers pay for a banquet at the Sugar Bowl basement, dues 25 cents, and payouts go to the top three shooters.

District Court Opens May Term with Mixed Civil and Criminal Dockets
The May term began with one criminal case and several civil actions. A jury found the defendant not guilty in State of Montana versus Oscar Garner after brief deliberation. In Portland Cattle Loan Company versus George R Featherly et al., the jury ruled for the defendant on mortgage foreclosure claims. The docket resumes tomorrow.
