May Day fete to be staged at Normal College campus
The annual May fete returns next Tuesday evening at the Normal college campus with bleacher seating for May Day tag holders at Thomas Bookstore. The program begins at 7 with a three part presentation by the dancing class under Miss Helen Mae Smith, featuring a Queen’s Processional, Frieze Productions and the May Fete Proper, followed by a fairyland finale where a Queen of the Fairies crowns two children and leads a throne procession.

Beaverhead Quota for Red Cross Flood Relief Oversubscribed
Beaverhead County’s share of 200 dollars for the Red Cross Mississippi flood relief was oversubscribed, with 240 dollars collected so far. The extra will be kept as a nest egg for future calls as floods rise and relief is not yet seen. All donations were voluntary and no fundraising drive was conducted.

Beaverhead post of the American Legion held a lively meeting at city hall pledging to sign up ex service men before July 2 the last date to reinstate government life insurance. Memorial day events were scaled back with cemetery decorating planned at 9 00 am and a push to double local post membership by Monday noon. Dr F M Poindexter offered to examine applicants free of charge as the group promotes the government life insurance offer.
