Hecla Mines Sold In Public Sale At Glendale

Hecla Consolidated Mining Company of Indianapolis reports sale of all Montana and Indiana properties near Glendale. Henry Knippenberg bought the assets for 28011.26 cash after bids failed, with a six month option to profit above the purchase price. The board, paying dividends totaling 2,250,000, will wind up the company under February 27 1906 stockholders’ resolution.

Supreme Court to Decide Meaning of Field in License Law

Helena May 12 The Montana license fishing law is headed for the Supreme Court after a trial where Dr A P Thatcher argued he fished on his placer claim and thus did not need a license. Justice Reese fined him 25 dollars, while attorney Charles Donnelly appeals, claiming field should apply to farmers only.

Fire destroys multiple buildings at Monida station

A blaze at Monida last week burned the freight house coal house section house and depot to the ground with nearly all contents. Authorities say the fire started from a defective flue in the section house and the loss tops $5000. This is the second fire at the hill station in recent months with limited park travel expected this year.
