County Treasurer Office Robbed in Daylight Break-In
A noon-hour raid on Norah Connelley’s county treasurer office in Dillon left the vault ransacked. Less than $500 in cash missing along with a gold bar and insurance papers, deeds, and some county warrants. A hitchhiker found papers on the highway near Markovich ranch, informing Connelley by 5:20 p.m. Police believe the courthouse was unoccupied about ten minutes during the theft.

Farmers and ranchers have fought the pests. authorities will run the effort on public roads with FERA crews. Barrett Named to Bea verhead High School Board
Robert M. Barrett of the State Bank and Trust Company was named a member of the Bea verhead high school board to fill the unexpired term of J. E. Monroe who was appointed principal. A special meeting is set for May 21 to confer with a field engineer of the FERA. The board noted only one dance license issued so far this year and Sheriff James McCollum was told to stop dances in unlicensed halls outside Dillon and Lima. Licenses cost five dollars for a single dance seven dollars fifty cents per quarter and twenty five dollars per year.

Scouts Direct City Traffic Sweep Reported

Pioneer Dillon Rancher Claimed Edward Mooney Dies
Edward Mooney longtime Dillon resident died Monday after a weeks long illness at his daughter Mrs. John Ney’s home on South Dakota street. An Irish immigrant who came to America in youth he moved west with rail expansion and settled on a Ryan canyon ranch south of Dillon in 1893 later passing the operation to his son Dan Mooney former Beaverhead sheriff. He leaves daughters Mrs. Ney and Mrs. Nellie Madison of Los Angeles a brother Dam F. Mooney and several descendants. Funeral at St Rose Catholic Church with Requiem High Mass conducted by Rev F X Lechner and burial at Mountain View cemetery.

Two young women identified as Mickey Simpkins and Lorna Young were arrested Friday by Sheriff James McCollum and taken into custody by Idaho Falls authorities. They are wanted on burglary charges.
