Dillon Brass Band Plans Formed Under John Willis
The Dillon Brass band organizers announce John G. Willis as director and promise regular Saturday concerts starting about eight o clock. Two rehearsals per week planned for the first month to ensure quality, with instrument choices to be announced next week. Peter J. Peterson returned from Denmark last Friday with his wife, children, and seven young men.

William Bracken Dead Son of Mrs McMenemey Dies in Fremont
William Bracken, son of Mrs. Martin McMenemey of Grayling, died in Fremont Missouri on April 28 and was shipped to Dillon for burial. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church by Rev. Father Pudenz with many from Grayling and Dillon in attendance. Born in Pennsylvania 28 years ago, he grew up in Montana near Grayling and later worked in rail yards in Anaconda and Lima before his death while employed by Iron Mountain. He was well known and respected among railroad men in the West and the community extends sympathy.

County Fair Committee Organized For Prize Fund
County commissioners appointed a committee to manage an $800 cash prize fund for agricultural exhibits at the county fair. The Dillon area group includes J W Scott, Thomas Selway, G R Featherly, G T Paul. T M Selway elected chairman. G T Paul, secretary and treasurer. A joint meeting with the Dillon Fair & Racing Association was planned for next Monday evening to outline county fair arrangements.

The Manse Minstrel company led by Misa Morning Glory and her primroses of the west performed at the Twin Bridges opera-house last Saturday. About five audience attended and the group cleared a neat little amount for the Presbyterian church. A number of Dillon people went over to support the event.

Forest Reserve Protest Planned by Farmers Group
Members of the Farmers and Stock Growers association met at the courthouse last Saturday afternoon to discuss the proposed forest reserve spanning the Dillon to Ruby range. They decided to draft resolutions protesting the reserve, with Milt Davidson J P Murray and Thomas Wilson named to draft the document. They deem the land unsuitable for a reserve and expect an easy rejection.

McKinney AttEMPTS Suicide After Strychnine Mix
Hugh McKinney brother in law of Mike Hagerty attempted suicide in Hogan's alley early this morning by ingesting strychnine. He had been on a prolonged spree and drank about 10 grains dissolved in water. Dr Poin Dexter revived him after pumping out the poison.

Miss Viola Rich died in Bozeman after a lingering illness described as walking typhoid fever. Born January 14 1875 in Kansas she lived in Dillon since childhood and was a devoted member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Her funeral is scheduled at the Dillon M E Church Sunday with interment at Mountain View cemetery.
