Apollo Lodge 15 I O O F celebrated the 85th anniversary of the order in America with a large turnout at Bannack and Idaho Streets The program opened with a welcome by the Noble Grand George Jewell and included musical numbers and a banquet prepared by the Rebecca lodge Approximately 135 people attended and the lodges reported strong membership growth despite Rev R P Smith missing the event due to a late train

The Dillon delegation led by Z B Yeaman secured the next G. A. R. encampment for Dillon despite Butte opposition. Miss Mae Rich and Mrs. C J Fenner of the Ladies Relief Corps helped in the effort. The next encampment will be held in Dillon in late March with Steadman Post and Dillon W R C honored in the election.

Souvenir Louisiana Purchase Gold Dollars Sold at Bank
The First National Bank received ten of the souvenir Louisiana Purchase gold dollars last week for sale at three dollars each, with two dollars over par going to the World’s Fair fund. Only 250,000 issued, half bearing Jefferson and half McKinley, with the 1803 1903 inscription and laurel sprig on the reverse.

Dr. Tilden Leaves for Pierre Baptist Church

Beaverhead County Jails Project Promises Strong Modern Hold
Beaverhead county advances a new jail described as handsome and strong, built of Rattlesnake flint sandstone with 18 inch walls. The 473 by 60 foot structure will house eight steel barred cell windows, steel dumb waiter, bath facilities, steam heat, and electric lighting. Contractor Phil Anderegg aims for a June 1 completion at about $12 000.
