Wisdom Girl Dies in Butte Hospital

Lima Man Injured By Falling Building Wall

Bill Gray of Lima suffered internal injuries when an old building wall under demolition collapsed on him. He was trapped as the wall fell while he tried to move out of danger and was rushed to Barrett hospital in Dillon for treatment.

Chicago sculptor presents plaster nick el model for 1938 coin

Washington reports Felix Schlag, a 46 year old Chicago sculptor, handed the U S Treasury a nickel and received $1000 in change for his plaster design. Two office holders seek re election in Beaverhead

Norman Giles filed for the Democratic nomination for clerk of district court at the July 19 primary. He has served as clerk of court since January 8, 1937 after filling a vacancy and was a deputy under Edgar Rife. Edgar B. Rife seeks reelection to the county board of commissioners, having chaired the board since 1937 and served six years on the panel.

Last Rites for H C Wyatt Held by Legion

Scores of friends and American Legion comrades paid their last respects to Henry C Wyatt Beaverhead post's first commander buried last Thursday in Mountain View cemetery. Dillon Receives Montana's First Government Mural

Dillon becomes the first Montana city to receive a government mural for the post office lobby. The News From the States painting by Mrs. A. J. Lochrie was funded by the Treasury Department and hung after noon on Tuesday. It depicts the pony express arrival with pioneer figures and local geography, marking 1869 as the year sheep first entered the territory.

Joint Meeting of Beaverhead-Silver Bow Farmer's Union

The Beaverhead-Silver Bow county unit of the Farmer's Union will hold a regular quarterly meeting at Melrose on Sunday May 8. A covered dish luncheon at 11 80 will be served by the ladies, with President John Albers presiding. Local secretaries have been urged to ensure a large attendance as items of importance are due for action. Representatives of the Butte Miners Union will attend, and a pre-meeting of all board members and officers is set for 11 a m.

Prospector of Early Days Is Called Beyond

Funeral services for Rudolph Peterson 76 who died at his South Dakota street home last Friday night were held Monday at Brundage Chapel with Rev. J A Meeke officiating. Interment followed at Mountain View cemetery. A Denmark native, Peterson came to Beaverhead county in 1880 as a miner and prospector later working as contractor and wood hauler. He had no known relatives. Pallbearers were Robert Quackenbush Tom Scott Soren Larson Frank Gorman William Welborn and Ed Lloyd.
