Oceans Contain Gold and Other Elements in Sea Water
Smithsonian data cited by Popular Mechanics suggests sea water holds small gold traces about 45 micrograms per kilogram. With 1 million cubic kilometers of ocean and $20 an ounce gold, total value hypothetically nears $14,000 for every person if extractable, though cost does not justify extraction.
