Carney Named State Game Warden After Marrs Resigns
J W Carney formerly of Dillon and long time chief deputy guide warden was named state game warden by the commission to replace C B Marrs who resigned effective immediately. Governor Cooney pressed for resignations and the group debated but refused to quit. Marrs had been warden since 1980s and Carney has served with the commission for 17 years and as chief deputy for nine.

Bourquin Cleared in Auto Accident Inquest
In Butte on March 21 a coroner's inquest absolved John Bourquin driver of the car that fatally injured eight year old Hugh Galloway of Divide. The accident was deemed unavoidable. More than a dozen witnesses including Mgr Bourquin testified. A manslaughter charge remains pending in justice court with a hearing set for April 5.

Esteemed Matron Dies at Armstead
Mrs. Joseph Wall died at her daughter’s Armstead home Sunday after a brief illness. Born Beesy Brady Wall in Ballymore Ireland on August 15 1857 she came to America at 14 and later moved with her husband Joseph Wall to Dell Montana then Ogden Utah. Survived by two daughters one son and several grandchildren the funeral was held Tuesday at St Rose Catholic church with Rev Clifford presiding.

Collision Near Melrose Kills Three in Montana
A head on crash south of Melrose Montana last Thursday evening killed Pat Walsh of Minneapolis and Sheriff W C Orr, who died in Butte hospitals along with Miller, a Minneapolis man. The collision likely resulted from blinded drivers and high lights. The wreck drew aid from W L Kearns and Kenneth Melvor. Orr died Saturday from a punctured lung. Miller died Monday.

Golfers Work on New Course Sunday
At a Dillon Country Club stockholders meeting last Friday evening the group voted to sell the old course and move all property to a new site east of town. A motion to cancel back dues by 1983 and apply bonds to back dues was approved. Robert Barrett received a thanks for donating the new site.

Nellie Madison formerly Nellie Mooney is in custody near Los Angeles after the husband Eric Madison was found shot to death in his apartment. Neighbors reported six shots near midnight with Mrs Madison present and she denies involvement stating she was away at the time. Former husband William Thrown a prominent attorney said he would defend her if charged.

Mrs Melinda Dishno died at her Dillon home after a lingering illness. Born November 27, 1862 in Plattsburg New York she moved to Beaverhead County about 87 years ago and lived on a ranch before moving to Dillon in 1912. Surviving are her husband two daughters two sons three sisters and several grandchildren. Funeral at St Rose Catholic Church with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
